Singapore’s First Centre Dedicated To The Rescue Of Wild Animals

The ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre (AWRC) is Singapore’s first centre dedicated to the rescue of wild animals- both animals rescued from the illegal wildlife trade and native wild animals in need of help.

Spanning 0.5 hectares, it currently houses species-specific enclosures, care facilities, and a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. It serves as a rescue facility for injured native wild animals that we have rescued via the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Hotline. It is also a safe sanctuary for animals who have been rescued after being illegally brought into Singapore and sold or kept as pets.

In 2024, ACRES was thrilled to receive approval to expand into an additional 1.5 hectares of land, a major milestone years in the making. Guided by environmental studies, the expansion will retain natural vegetation and support native biodiversity while creating improved habitats for animals such as birds, mammals, tortoises, turtles, otters, and pangolins.

From Rescue to Release

The work of the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre

Rescue &
Release

Our Wildlife Rescue Team operates up to 18 hours a day, responding to calls involving injured, displaced, or trafficked wild animals across Singapore.

Rehabilitation & Veterinary Care

After rescue, animals receive medical treatment, nourishment, and the quiet recovery time they need at our Wildlife Rescue Centre.

Repatriation

Repatriation involves close collaboration with international partners and authorities to ensure animals are healthy, fit for travel, and ready to thrive.

Sanctuary

We are expanding our sanctuary to almost four times its original size. This will allow us to help more animals, with more space for our rescue and rehabilitation work.
