We do have a minimum age limit of 14 years old as some of the work done may include cutting and carrying stuff. This may be hazardous to younger volunteers.
However, to participate in the Wildlife Guardians Programme you must be at least 16 years old and to volunteer for the Wildlife Rescue Programme you need to be at least 21 years old.
Our staff will contact you to provide you with training and further information.
For Wildlife Guardians Programme & Wildlife Rescue Programme, you will need to attend a full day training course from 10am to 5pm which will be held at the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre.
If you are over 16 years old, you can assist with looking after the rescued animals in the quarantine and the wildlife sanctuary through the Wildlife Guardians Programme. For this, you will need to undergo a full day training and also be fully vaccinated against Hepatitis A and B and tetanus.
If you are over 14 years old, you can assist with looking after the rescued animals in the wildlife sanctuary through the Wildlife Sanctuary Programme. You don’t need to be vaccinated against Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and tetanus.
The staff in charge of each volunteer team will contact you directly to discuss about the duration of volunteering and your level of commitment.
However, for Wildlife Guardians, Wildlife Rescue & Wildlife Sanctuary programme, you are required to commit for at least 2 volunteering shifts per month for a period of minimum 6 months.

We also send call-outs for volunteers via email, so you will receive emails notifying you of upcoming volunteer opportunities for the areas you have expressed interest in. Yes. ACRES welcome international volunteers and also provide on-site accommodation at the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre. Please click here for our International Volunteering Programme Proposal.
Kindly note that volunteers must arrange and pay for their own flights, visa and travel insurance.
